At our Burnaby Church we’re committed to a heartfelt expression of worship. We want to provide an environment where you can tune out the cares of life and focus on our great and awesome God. You can always expect to dig into the Bible. God has something to say to each one of us. The church is more than just a building. It’s a family. There are many opportunities in our Burnaby Church to gather in small groups to know each other and grow. Our code is simple; we’re not out to get famous or build a mega church, we’re here to make Jesus known. In fact we know that God has a mission for each and every one of us it is through His Word and by His Spirit that are in a church family and doing His stuff.

Calvary Chapel Burnaby is a simple church that does its best to major on the majors. We don’t care about how you dress when you come to church or what background you’ve had. What’s important is that we take one step closer to Jesus in our hearts each and every day. We love the word discipleship and we’re not afraid to take the time to help each other along through God’s Word. Come on out on a Sunday and receive a warm greeting just like coming home after having been away a while. We’re called to gather the scattered and get out of the way of the Holy Spirit.

This year we happily introduce Freedom Sessions to our Burnaby church. If you haven’t heard about Freedom Sessions we encourage you to get involved, it is one of the best resources for discipleship healing and learning how to move into recovery or beyond pain in our lives. For those of us that enjoy a good chew on theological and doctrinal issues we have our Theology Cafe group that fits just right. If you’ve ever wanted to know more about Christianity but have been weirded out about the idea of coming to church our Radiant 101 study might just be what you’ve been looking for. We have all kinds of Life Groups and Bible Studies to engage you on your walk with Jesus.

That just happened. Check out last Sunday's teaching.

Outreach

Proverbs 24: 11 (ESV) Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. The topic of outreach comes up every now and then. Our faith moves us on to loving others and loving outward. It causes us to think of self a little less and others […]

Mercy

Romans 9: 16 (ESV) So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. We have a lot of choices in life. Some choices we make end up being great ones and other choices we make are disasters waiting to happen. Some of the choices I have made had […]

Leadership Grace

In church leadership we’re all too often placed in tough situations making tough decisions. Some of those decisions can make or break relationships, and at some of those decisions we often look back on with regret. How many times have we asked ourselves “How could I have done that differently?” It’s common, being human, to […]

The long walk back

Ephesians 4:32. Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you… The road back through forgiveness to the place where we started from is a long way sometimes. The love and graciousness of those around us will always dictate whether it is a lonely road of heartbreak or a […]
