Calvary Chapel Burnaby is a North Burnaby church plant of Calvary Chapel. It has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into his image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are not opposed to denominations as such, only their over-emphasis on doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ.

What to expect
Our worship time is familiar and comfortable. After our worship time we take a coffee/tea break and come back together to continue worship through teaching from the Bible. We teach chapter by chapter through God’s Word in an expository format. We don’t take up tithes or offerings during our services; There’s an offering box at the back of the church if you wish to worship in that way.

We place great emphasis on the exposition of Scripture and teaching the entire Bible chapter-by-chapter and verse-by-verse. We believe that the Spirit of God works through the Word of God in the hearts of the people of God. Exposition is more than merely speaking about the bible or from the Bible; it is the proclamation of the Bible itself.

School of Ministry
As a Burnaby church that thrives on discipleship, we have a great School of Ministry for anyone interested in deepening their faith and learning how to practically serve the church. If you feel called to the ministry, or called to church planting, Calvary Chapel Burnaby has an extensive church planting network in Calvary Chapel with a lot of support.
Authenticity, simplicity, love, and discipleship…
Calvary Chapel Burnaby is a church that is authentic in life: real people, real problems, real love, real support, and real solutions through the word of God. It is a church that loves its neighbours as itself through serving, giving, encouraging, rejoicing with those who rejoice and mourning with those who mourn. We love to worship and will promote corporate worship experiences while cultivating personal worship day to day. We're a Burnaby church that is growing; People who are engaged in sound biblical teaching and ‘life on life’ discipleship, growing in their relationship with God; disciples producing disciples; home groups producing home groups; ministries producing ministries; and churches producing churches. Our church is a place that has Jesus at the centre of every decision and every action, always longing to bring glory and honour to His name.[ Read More ]
A Burnaby Church at the Dolphin Theatre
Have you ever considered the time that we have left in this life? Gandalf said it best “All you have to do is to decide what to do with the time given to you.” Whether we like to think about it or not, we’re on the clock and time is unforgiving. We can spend hours ‘killing time,’ but it actually does injure eternity.
It does not take much to look around and recognize that any movement embracing tolerance is intolerant of evangelical Christianity. As a Christian who is out there talking to people about their spirituality and Christianity, I don’t receive a lot of tolerance. The temptation is, and always has been, to water down the message of God in the Bible so that we’re more accepted. We are tempted each day to be an editor of God’s Word, instead of a messenger of God’s Word.
Hebrews 12: 1 – 2 “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.”
My friends Steve and Laura Cyr have answered The Lord’s call to pursue church planting in France. While they have been patient and waiting on The Lord…the time is now and Steve and Laura are on their way. Join us as we pray for them from our very own church planting in Vancouver. Please check out this great video to capture their heart and let’s remember to lift them both up in prayer.
